A spectacular journey around Mt. Manaslu (8163m), the eighth mountain on earth, takes you into the heart of northern Himalayas that encircles the great massif of Manaslu, Himalchuli and Boudha Himal. Along the way you will get to appreciate the changing views of the mountains and wilderness, remote but fascinating settlements, rhododendron and pine forests, Tibetan Buddhist cultures that you will physically get so close to Tibet. Due to its sensitive geographical position, it’s been a controlled area meaning comparatively less number of tourists make it to Manaslu every year. Apart from the Conservation area and TIMS permit, a trekker is required to obtain a special permit paying $ 75 and $ 100 (depending upon season) per person for first week and plus an extra $ 10 and $ 15 per day spent on trekking.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu. Welcome and pick up from airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Guided city tour of Kathmandu
Day 03: Trek starts. Drive to Soti Khola, 710m via Arughat, Gorkha. 8-9 hours
Day 04: Trek to Machha Khola (925m), 6-7 hours
Day 05: Trek to Jagat (1375m), 6-7 hours
Day 06: Trek to Deng (1860m), 7-8 hours
Day 07: Trek to Namrung (2630m), 6-7 hours
Day 08: Trek to Samagaun (3530m), 6-7 hours
Day 09: Acclimatization and exploration day in Samagaun
Day 10: Trek to Samdo (3690m), 4-5 hours
Day 11: Trek to Darmashala/Larkya Base camp (4460m), 4-5 hours
Day 12: Trek to Bimthang (3590m) via Larkya-La pass (5135m), 7-8 hours
Day 13: Trek to Tilje (2300m), 5-6 hours

Day 17: Departure day. Transfer to airport and fly back home
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arrival you will be greeted and welcomed by our representative at the airport. You will then be transferred to the hotel booked for you. A pre departure meeting will be scheduled as time permits. During the meeting, you will be introduced to the leader/guide who will be guiding you all throughout the trek. You will also be briefed about the program that starts from the next day.

Day 02: Guided city tour of Kathmandu
Today you will be visiting various cultural, historical and architectural monuments of the Kathmandu. The centuries old monuments are full of legends and beliefs and the Durbar squares of medieval Kathmandu are full of intricate carving and superb collection of architectural riches. The qualified and experienced tour guide will lead you and show you around. The time after tour is for preparation for your trip.

Day 03: Drive to Soti Khola, 710m via Arughat, Gorkha. 8-9 hours
The trip starts soon after the early morning breakfast with a drive to Soti Khola. All along the winding mountain road you will be enjoying great views of country sides, rivers, valleys, and mountains. The drive goes through Dhading Bensi from where the rough road starts and through Arughat bazaar of Gorkha district and further to Soti Khola.

Day 04: Trek to Machha Khola (925m), 6-7 hours
After crossing bridge over Soti Khola, the trail goes through beautiful Sal forest then climbs onto the ridge and along the Budhi Gandaki river on rocky ups and downs trail coming across waterfalls. The trail descends passing through terraces and then up to reach beautiful Labubesi village of Gurungs. Descending down to wide and sandy riverbed of Budhi Gandaki and walking along side ridges and crossing a bridge on Machha Khola, the trek for the day ends at Machha Khola village

Day 05: Trek to Jagat (1375m), 6-7 hours
The trail offers up and down walks and passes through a number of streams. Passing hot spring at Tatopani and crossing bridge over Budhi Gandaki river the trail ascends on well-maintained trail of stone staircases to reach Dovan (1070m). Crossing a suspension bridge the walk still continues on stone staircases to advance to Yuru Phant to see an impressive view of thundering Budhi Gandaki river descending into the gorgeous cascades. The trail to Budhi Gandaki valley offers significantly different and spectacular views. Walking ups and downs and along the river bank the trail ascends to reach the village of Jagat.

Day 06: Trek to Deng (1860m), 7-8 hours
The trail starts with a short climb on a rocky ridge to Salleri and descends to Sirdibas valley with some nice stone houses with slate roofs. The view of Sringi Himal along the trail is simply beautiful. Passing the Bhatte Khola and crossing the longest suspension bridge of the region over Budhi Gandaki river, the trail steeply ascends to Philim, a large Gurung village at 1590m. Passing through villages, mountain millet fields, waterfalls, gorge and descending to grassland slopes and to river then crossing suspension bridges and ascending through bamboo forest the trail reaches Deng.

Day 07: Trek to Namrung (2630m), 6-7 hours
Leaving Deng and moving onto northwards then passing through a small but beautiful village of Ranagaun at 1980, which offers stunning view of Budhi Gandaki gorge, the trail takes you to Bihi Phedi which is a nice place to take a break and view the Budhi Gandaki valley. Passing through forest and Mani walls, you take the route that goes through Prok village which has a popular view point to appreciate the view of Shringi Himal. The trail descends through a charming forest then crossing and witnessing the Budhi Gandaki river frantically thundering into the deep gorges, you reach Namrung.

Day 08: Trek to Samagaun (3530m), 6-7 hours
Admiring the magnificent view of Shringi and Ganesh Himal from Namrung village, the trail passes through stone gate and numerous beautifully carved Mani walls, prayer flags, chortens of Lho village with mesmerizing views of peak 29, Himal chuli etc. A side excursion to Pungen glacier is a beautiful option to enjoy the magnificent view of the Mt. Manaslu, the world’s eighth highest mountain. Following lateral moraine of the glacier for about half an hour, you will reach the village of Sama.

Day 09: Acclimatization and exploration day in Samagaun
It’s more than just an acclimatization day as it offers a magnificent opportunity of exploration of this very region. A side trip to the base camp of Mt Manaslu which offers the unparalleled views of Samdo, Ngadi chuli, Manaslu glacier, Manaslu ice fall and Birendra kunda turns out to be really rewarding one. This excursion takes about 6-7 hours.

Day 10: Trek to Samdo (3690m), 4-5 hours
Passing through beautiful grazing lands and gradually ascending to the valley, you will be left awestruck to have seen the stunning view of the Manaslu just in front of you. It’s almost taking no time to reach Samdo. The Tibet border is just about 4 kilometers away from Samdo, and it’s also a Tibetan refugee village. You will have a time to explore this amazing village which also serves as a perfect view point to enjoy the views of Manaslu, Ngadi chuli, Manaslu glacier, Manaslu icefall, Samdo and many more.

Day 11: Trek to Darmashala/Larkya Base camp (4460m), 4-5 hours
It’s rather a short day. The trail goes down the ridge and after crossing Budhi Gandaki river on wooden bridge, the upward walk starts. You come across a couple of streams and Larkya glacier, the trail gently ascends to Dharmashala. You will have plenty of time to get acclimatized and to explore.

Day 12: Trek to Bimthang (3590m) via Larkya-La pass (5135m), 7-8 hours
Start the day early with a steep ascent to Larkya La along the rocky and windy trail. From the pass you could enjoy the views of Manaslu, Larkya peak, Cho Danda, Himlung himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Kuru, Annapurna II and more. After the pass, the trail steeply descends through rocky and icy path. The beautiful lowland pastures, icy lakes and majestic Manaslu looming closer make your long day walk worthwhile. The Bimthang valley with mani walls with prayer flags and some deserted houses welcomes you.

Day 13: Trek to Tilje (2300m), 5-6 hours
A spectacular view of Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Cheo Himal, Himlung Himal etc can be enjoyed from the ridge at Bimthang. The trail descends and crosses Sungure Khara, a highland pasture before the Dhudh Khola stream. With gentle climb through terraced paddy fields you will reach Karche la. The trail then descends through fig and rhododendron forest to Tilje.

Day 14: Trek to Tal (1700m), 5-6 hours
Climbing over a small ridge and walking along the stone paved trail that passes through a beautiful village, you will cross a bridge over Dudh Khola and then ascends to reach Tongje village. Descending down to Karte village then crossing bridge over Marshyangdi Khola, you will reach the village of Tal, situated at the foot of beautiful waterfall.

Day 15: Trek to Syange (1080m), 6-7 hours
The trail follows to Chamje village crossing Marshyangdi Khola yet another time. Then the Marshyangdi valley opens up with beautiful terraced fields and villages. The trail then descends through rhododendron and pine forest to reach Syange village.

Day 16: Drive back to Kathmandu, 7-8 hours
The drive is via Besishahar and through beautiful landscapes of valley, gorges and mountains. Driving along Marshyangdi then Trishuli river is itself a nice experience. In Kathmandu, you will be escorted up to your hotel. Rest of the time for relaxation.
Day 17: Departure day
The trip comes to an end. You will be transferred to airport and bid farewell.
