Annapurna base camp trek is undoubtedly one of the best treks in the Himalaya. Just at the elevation of slightly above 4000 m, you will be at the base camp of one of the highest mountains on earth. Hence, it’s a highly rewarding trek when it comes to enjoying the trekking along the majestic Himalayan trails. Unlike many other Himalayan base camp treks, this trek can be done without having to commit a longer holiday. Here we bring a shorter version of the trek which is also equally great and enthralling. Annapurna base camp shorter version trek suits the trekkers who are on relatively shorter holiday but would want to witness the grandeur of the amazing Annapurna and reach its base camp.
The trek not only offers some of the most fascinating trekking experiences by taking you into the heart of the Himalaya but also allows you to get insight into the rich cultural heritages of the ethnic communities. Annapurna region is also known for its diverse flora and fauna that you come across along this marvelous Himalayan journey which makes your trip even more beautiful. It passes through remote villages, terraced fields, rhododendron & bamboo forests, foothill landscapes of Annapurna region and takes you into the icebound sanctuary of divine Annapurnas, Gangapurna, Machhapuchhre, Hiuchuli that provides 360 Degree view of snow covered mountains.
Apart from your time in the cities, this Annapurna base camp shorter version trek has only 7 days of trekking. It will however give you the equal opportunity to explore and enjoy. The trek can be shortened or extended upon request if you are interested. But if you would like to enjoy the longer version of the trek, we offer that as well.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu. Welcome at airport and transfer to hotel
Upon arrival you will be greeted and welcomed by our representative at the airport. You will then be transferred to the hotel booked for you. A pre departure meeting will be scheduled as time permits. During the meeting, you will be introduced to the leader/guide who will be guiding you all throughout the trek. You will also be briefed about the program that starts from the next day.

Day 02: Fly or Drive to Pokhara.
A 30-minute flight or a scenic drive of approx 6 hours will take to the beautiful lake city Pokhara. The view along the way is so dramatic with rivers, valleys, terraced fields and charming villages. After checking in to hotel and getting freshen up, you will time to explore the city. Enjoy your time and make preparation for the trip

Day 03: Pokhara To Chomrong (2170m) Via Jhinu (Hot spring), 1780m. (approx 3 hrs drive and 5 hrs drive)
The trek starts with a drive to Siwai from where the walk starts initially on relatively flatter land through village, forest and fields to Kimrong stream from where the trail ascends. After lunch at Jhinu the trail further ascends steeply to Chhomrong. Chhomrong is a beautiful village with a close-up view of the Annapurna South, Hiuchuli and Machhapuchhre.

Day 04: Trek from Chomrong To Dovan (2500m), approx 6 hours
After enjoying the magnificent view in the morning, the trek starts with a descent to Chhomrong khola and then gently ascends to Sinuwa. After Sinuwa the trek will be through beautiful forest to Bamboo with walk mostly on flat and a little uphill and downhill trail. After lunch the trek further goes though the forest to Dovan on similar trail.

Day 05: Trek from Dovan To Deurali(3200m), approx 4 hours
The third day of trekking is relatively shorter. You will be walking further through forest along the gorge of Modi river. As the altitude gains, you will be walking some uphill walks

Day 06: Deurali To Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) (4130m) Via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC)(3700m), approx 4 hours
Another short day in terms of walking. As the altitude gains rapidly, it’s important you walk less and slow. It’s about 4 hours walk today initially through a light forest. You could have lunch at MBC before further ascending to ABC.

Day 07: Trek back Annapurna Base Camp To Bamboo (2300m), approx 7 hours
The trail descends same way back. It’s mainly downhill wall through forests and villages. But the amazing views will always accompany to help us keep going despite the long day.

Day 08: Trek back from Bamboo To Jhinu Dada (Hot spring) (1780m), approx 6 hours
The trail retrieves back the same way up to Chhorong. From Chhomrong the trail drops steeply to Jhinu danda. It’s lovely place and you can also experience the natural hot spring bath on the bank of Modi River. It’s believed that natural hot spring is good for skin and can rejuvenate the exhausted muscles.

Day 09: Trek from Jhinu to Nayapul then drive back to Pokhara, 7-8 hours
Final day of the trek and probably the easiest one. An initial brief descent will be followed by a walk along the Modi river. The trek ends at Nayapul. From Nayapul, you will be driven back on a private vehicle to Pokhara. Time for relaxation in Pokhara.

Day 10: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu.
Drive or fly back to Kathmandu. In the afternoon, you could either enjoy some sightseeing or enjoy your time on your own with shopping, relaxation etc.

The trek initially starts with a drive to Nayapul. After that the walk starts. Walking along the stream and Modi river and ascending through village fields you will reach the beautiful Ghandruk. The view from here is mesmerizing. Explore the village and Gurung culture.

Day 04: Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong(2170m), 5-6 hours
Enjoy the magnificent view from the Ghandruk village in the morning. After breakfast start the trek ascending to Ghandrukkot followed by the downhill walk to Kimrong khola. The trail then ascends steeply before it gets relatively flatter to reach Chhomrong. It’s another beautiful village with wonderful views.

Day 05: Trek from Chhomrong to Himalaya, (2850m), 6-7 hours
The trail descends via 2700 stone steps to Chhorong stream. Cross the bridge and trek uphill to Khuldighar through beautiful rhododendron to reach Dovan then to Himalaya. Picturesque view will greet you all along the way.

Day 06: Trek to Annapurna Base camp (4130m) via Machhapuchhre base camp (3700m), 6-7 hours
The trail moves upward to Machhapuchhre base camp witnessing the mesmerizing views of the mountains, glaciers and landscape. The trail further ascends to Annapurna base camp, also known as Annapurna Sanctuary surrounded by lofty mountains. Splendid view of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Barha sikhar among many others is beyond imagination. Overnight at Base camp
