Starting with a drive to Syange and trek to Jagat, initially, you will be making your way through the beautiful villages, terraced fields, and river valleys at the foothills of the Annapurna. With ever impressive sights, the walk further takes you across barren and rocky landscapes towards the edging of the mountains. Exploring and stopping at the villages like Dharapani, Chame, Pisang, Manang, etc, you will also get acquainted with the culture and lifestyle of the people of this region. After passing the Thorong-La pass 5416m, the highest point on the trip, you will reach Muktinath and Jomsom.
One of the highest passes in the Himalayas, Thorong-La offers fascinating views of the Annapurna Vistas and Dhaulagiri along with other prominent peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The landscape of the region is simply extraordinary ranging from sub-tropical dense forest to desert-like and alpine landscape. The trek ends at Jomsom and you will be flying to Pokhara the next day. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival you will be greeted and welcomed by our representative at the airport followed by a transfer to hotel. A pre-departure meeting will be scheduled as time permits. During the meeting, you will be introduced to the leader/guide who will be guiding you all throughout the trek. You will also be briefed about the program that starts from the next day.

Day 02: Guided city tour of Kathmandu
Today you will be visiting various cultural, historical and architectural monuments of the Kathmandu. The centuries old monuments are full of legends and beliefs and the Durbar squares of medieval Kathmandu are full of intricate carving and superb collection of architectural riches. The qualified and experienced tour guide will lead you and show you around. The time after tour is for preparation for your trip.

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Jagat (1100m), approx 8 hours
You will first drive to Besishahar (850m) and then take a jeep to Syange. After Syange you will be doing a short trek to Jagat.

Day 04: Trek to Dharapani (1960m), approx 6 hours
The trek starts and winds up to the village of Chyamje. After crossing a suspension bridges the trail ascends through the forest of oak and rhododendrone. The trail further goes up to reach a valley. After passing through the beautiful village of Kodo, you will reach Dharapani.

Day 05: Trek to Chame (2650m), 5-6 hours
The trail goes uphill along the fir-forested ridges and river which is traditional mule track. The oak and maple forest along with the awesome landscape will be dominated by the spectacular views of the Lamjung himal, Annapurna II & IV.

Day 06: Trek to Pisang (3300m), 5-6 hours
The trail from Chame advances along steep and narrow river valley through dense forest and woodland. The beautiful view of Pisang peak and Annapurna II will accompany you along the way.

Day 07: Trek to Manang (3520m), 5-6 hours
The morning will greet you with breathtaking sunrise view on Annapurna II. Taking the upper route to Manang via Ghyaru, Ngawal and likes of villages, you will be awestruck by the incredible beauty of the mountain and distinct landscape. You will notice a big change in landscape and vegetation from today. The cold and dry climate makes the environment here harsher but the amazing scenery is simply unrivalled. You will find a short visit to Barge Monastery, the largest monastery in the region, an interesting one.

Day 08: Acclimatization day at Manang
Before ascending higher, you will have a rest day to get acclimatized to higher altitude. It won’t be a free day though. In order to keep you fit for following trails, you will have a side hike to Bhojo Gumpa or Gangapurna Lake and glacier. And Exploring the beautiful villages of Manang and a visit to the clinic of Himalayan Rescue Association will be worthwhile.

Day 09: Trek to Yak Kharka (4110m), 4-5 hours
It’s relatively shorter day walk to Yak Kharka but there will be a steady increase in the altitude. Hence, in order to avoid any altitude sickness, you will be ascending gradually. Literally Yak Kharka means Yak pasture land and true to its name you will come across the Himalayan Yaks. Crossing steam and ascending to the village of Tenki the trail further advances to get out of the Marshyangdi valley. Passing yak pastures and junipers woodland you will reach a small village of Ghunsa. Crossing the river on wooden bridge and walking along Mani walls through beautiful meadows where horses and yaks graze, you will reach your today’s destination, Yak Kharka.

Day 10: Trek to Thorong Phedi (4600m), 4-5 hours
It’s short day again. And it will be slow paced uphill walk to the base of Thorong-La pass. After an initial ascent of approx 2 hours the trail slightly descends to cross the river on a suspension bridge and reach Ledar village. The trail further ascends through towering cliffs to reach Thorong Phedi. The place, small yet busy, serves as a base camp for trekkers.

Day 11: Trek to Muktinath (3800m) via Thorong-La pass (5416m) and drive to Jomsom, approx 8 hours
The day starts early in the morning. It’s the highlight day of the entire trip as you will be crossing one of the highest and most spectacular Himalayan passes. The walk along steep uphill trail and then rocky ridges will make the day a adventurous one. The day starts with a slow paced walk of approx 4-5 hours will take you to Thorong-La pass at 5416m from where you could enjoy the 360 Degree panorama of the mountains that extends even into Tibet. It’s an incredible and one of the rare satisfying moments to be on the top of this mountain pass. The arrays of chhortens and sounds of fluttering prayer flags make are simply awesome. Keeping the Annapurna massif on your back and gorgeous Kali Gandaki gorge in your front, the trail descends to Muktinath, a holy and pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhist. From here you will drive about an hour to Jomsom, 2700m.

Day 12: Fly to Pokhara and rest day at Pokhara
You will have an early flight to Pokhara. Pokhara is a beautiful town. You will have time for relaxation and rest in Pokhara.

Day 13: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu.
You could take either drive or flight to be back to Kathmandu. It’s 25 minutes flight but if you drive it will take about 6 hours. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel. Free time on your own.

Here is a recommended Equipment List for trekking in Nepal Himalayas. You could bring the ones you already have and rest can be bought or hired in Kathmandu or other cities.
Clothing
Lightweight trekking boots with spare laces
A pair of track shoes. To wear in the camp at night or when the boot is wet
4-season sleeping bag
Warm jacket ( Fiber fill or down should be adequate)
A rainproof jacket with hood or a poncho
