This hike is of approx 4-5 hours that starts from Kande goes through amazingly picturesque Thulo Kharka and Dhampus villages before ending at Phedi.
Outline itinerary
Pokhara – Kande (approx 1 hour drive)
Hike Kande – Australian Camp, approx 2 hrs
Hike Australian camp – Dhampus, approx 45 mins
Hike Dhampus – Phedi, approx 1:30 hrs
Phedi – Pokhara (about 30 mins drive)
The trip starts with a drive to Kande. It’s about an hour drive through beautiful village settlements. And along the way you will enjoy the marvelous views. The hike starts from Kande that initially goes through a nice village. You can observe the village life and their activities. The trail ascends uphill and through beautiful forest until it reaches Australian camp. It takes about 2 hours in a slow and relaxed pace. Locally called Thulo Kharka, this place offers a breathtaking mountain view of Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Fishtail, Annapurna III, Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal and more. After a short exploration continue hiking down to Dhampus village. Along the trail through the jungle, you will enjoy the stunning views of mountain, lake and valleys. After about 45 minutes of walk you will reach one of the beautiful villages around called Dhampus which is beautifully faced towards mountains where you can also witness the village lifestyle and their culture. After lunch a further descent through forest and village for about one and half hours will take you to Phedi where your vehicle will be waiting. Drive back to Pokhara. End of the day.
