This tour offers you a little of everything that the magical country of Nepal has to offer. Starting in Nepal’s vibrant capital, Kathmandu, you will visit Nepal’s most important religious and cultural UNESCO world heritage sites where you can immerse yourself in the spiritual traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism. You will then be whisked down to the flatlands of the Terai for an unforgettable safari adventure to search for the elusive tiger and on to the peaceful lakeside town of Pokhara for a magical sunrise over the Annapurna mountain range of the Himalayas.
DAY 1: KATHMANDU (1,400m)
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and be met by a representative of Getaway! Himalayan Eco Trekking. Transfer to hotel.
Afternoon visit to two UNESCO world heritage sites, Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu Temples of Nepal dedicated to God Shiva where sadhus come to prey and cremations take place and the iconic Boudhanath stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
DAY 2: KATHMANDU – CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK (175 km)
6 hour drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park which is located in the Terai plains of Nepal. Enjoy a jungle or safari. Overnight in Chitwan at lodge.
DAY 3: CHITWAN – POKHARA (827m) (210 km)
5 hour drive from Chitwan National Park to the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara. Afternoon sightseeing in Pokhara to include Bindhyabasini Temple, one of the oldest temples in Pokhara dedicated to the Goddess Bhagwati; Devi’s waterfall and Gupteshwor cave. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
DAY 4: POKHARA – SARANGKOT (1,590m) – KATHMANDU (200 km)
Early morning drive to the village of Sarangkot, just north of Phewa Lake for a spectacular sunrise view over the Himalayas. 7 hour drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
DAY 05: DEPART KATHMANDU
Morning sightseeing to two UNESCO world heritage sites – Patan Durbar Square the city of fine arts full of ancient palaces, temples and shrines and Swayambhunath – an iconic Buddhist temple offering stunning views of the Kathmandu valley.
Transfer from hotel to Kathmandu International Airport for your return flight.
