This tour is perfect for those eager to have a taste of what Nepal has to offer but who are short on time. This tour will take you on a journey through the colourful and vibrant Hindu temples and Buddhist stupas of Kathmandu, to the peace and tranquility of the lakeside town of Pokhara with its views of Machhapuchchhre reflecting in the lake’s surface and up to a small mountain village for a spectacular sunrise across the Annapurna mountain range of the Himalayas before heading back to Kathmandu. This tour has a little of something for everyone.
DAY 1: KATHMANDU (1,400m)
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and be met by a representative of Getaway! Himalayan Eco Trekking. Transfer to hotel.
Visit to Pashupatinath Temple – a UNESCO world heritage site – and one of the most sacred Hindu Temples of Nepal, dedicated to God Shiva. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
DAY 2: KATHMANDU – POKHARA (827m) (200km)
7 hour drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. On route you will have the option of stopping at Manakamana Temple, accessed via cable car, or going river rafting. Afternoon sightseeing in Pokhara to include Bindhyabasini Temple, one of the oldest temples in Pokhara dedicated to the Goddess Bhagwati; Devi’s waterfall and Gupteshwor cave. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
DAY 3: POKHARA – SARANGKOT (1,590m) – KATHMANDU
Early morning drive to the village of Sarangkot, just north of Phewa Lake for spectacular sunrise view over the Himalayas. 7 hour drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
DAY 4: DEPART KATHMANDU
Morning sightseeing to two UNESCO world heritage sites – Patan Durbar Square the city of fine arts full of ancient palaces, temples and shrines and Swayambhunath – an iconic Buddhist temple offering stunning views of the Kathmandu valley.
Transfer from hotel to Kathmandu International Airport for your return flight.
